Position Highlights:
  • Position: Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist
  • Location: 9977 Woods Drive, Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
  • Required Travel: N/A

What you will need:
  • License: Registered Dietician or Licensed Dietician Required and Certified Diabetes Educator required
  • Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
  • Certification: BLS/CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider required and ongoing maintenance of Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years' previous experience preferred

What you will do:
  • Education of patients with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
  • Individual and group sessions for Medicare, Newly and previously diagnosed diabetes mellitus, Change in treatment plan
  • Instructions on insulin pumps, pattern management, and continuous read out sensors
  • Nutritional prescriptions, sick day management and home glucose monitoring also included for both individuals and in classes
