Responsibilities
Provides behavior management support to children and families with serious developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral problems in collaboration with clinical psychologists and behavioral consultants in the psychiatry and behavioral medicine unit. The BHTs work is directed by Nursing Leaders or designee. Incumbents are required to work with complex and acute psychiatric patients and be comfortable in dealing with stressful and quickly changing environments. This includes initiating appropriate interventions that promote a healthy and safe environment for patients, families and staff.

We are hiring Certified Behavior Technicians to work in our Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU)!
The Certified Behavior Technician position provides the opportunity to grow your career in a hospital setting that is on the cutting edge of behavioral health. Our CBT's implement behavior plans and coach patients directly through a series of scheduled activities within the biobehavioral program. Job duties include working in skills groups focused on motor skills, sensory activities, art therapy, music therapy, and educational skills. We also have several BCBA's and a psychologist who are heavily involved in patient care and support your work.
The PBMU is an inpatient crisis stabilization unit where we treat children ages 3-17 who are in psychiatric crisis. Our 41-bed unit is split into three programs: Child, Adolescent, and the Biobehavioral Inpatient Program.
This is a part-time 0.8 FTE (64 hours per bi-weekly pay period) position. It requires working a mix of day/evening shifts as well as every other Saturday/Sunday.
Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum one (1) years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families.
Required Credentials:
- WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT).
- Registration as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State within 6 months of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Safety Care certification (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-system involved children with severe behavioral problems, and developmental or intellectual disabilities.
- Previous experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment and treatment programs with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities that have severe behaviors.
Min to Max Hourly Salary
$25.09 - $37.64 /hr
Min to Max Annual Salary
$52,187.20 - $78,291.20 /yr
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
