About BROC Foundation:
The BROC Foundation is a not-for-profit, registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the BROC Athletic Training Outreach Program. The primary purpose of the Program is to utilize contributions to provide additional on-site care for the benefit of the community. This program is committed to becoming the leader in athletic training outreach services and sports medicine coverage across the south Louisiana area, with the overall goal of ensuring the safety of children participating in youth sports.
Mission:
The mission of the BROC Athletic Training Outreach Program is to support local schools and athletic programs by facilitating and providing direct services throughout the community in the areas of:

  • Athletic Training Outreach & Support
  • Injury Education, Prevention & Safety
  • Equipment & Supplies for Injury Treatment
  • Recovery & Rehabilitation
  • Concussion Management
  • Clinical Research in Injury Management

Vision:
By providing simple and direct access, immediate on-site care, and high quality education to our community, we will elevate the medical care received and ensure the safety of our active population.
Impact:
Currently, the BROC Foundation actively supports youth athletic programs within East Baton Rouge, Ascension, and Livingston Parishes, with other areas planned in the near future.
Summary Of Position:
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for the care of injured athletes, from adolescents to geriatrics, at community sporting events and on the practice/playing field. The ATC assesses, instructs and treats athletes with movement dysfunction and physical disability caused by pain or injury. ATCâ€'s also administer immediate first aid care and develop treatment programs based on the nature of the injury, including follow-up care with physicians when deemed appropriate. The ATC communicates with the injured athletes, coaches, physicians, and the family, appropriate.
Duties:
  • Appropriately assesses and examines athletes with varying diagnoses according to the Athletic Training scope of practice, including BROC's set standards.
  • Treats Athletes within the AT scope of practice. Provide education to patients, caregivers, coaches, etc. regarding athletic injuries and care.
  • Implement or assist with implementation for emergency action planning, documentation, and training.
  • Responsible for applying processes that ensure overall safety of patients and employees.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Physician Partners and related interest within the BROC system and outlying community
  • Efficiently follows all BROC protocols and injury management algorithms within scope of practice and State practice act.
  • Accepts responsibility for own growth and development through in-services, required programs, in-house education, and continuing education.
  • Allocate and delegate work time effectively to make efficient use of resources and capabilities. Forecast and anticipate schedule to accommodate market/seasonal changes.
  • Maintains professional certifications and licensure.
  • Participates in program education efforts, both internally and externally.
  • Proactively seeks opportunity for skill development for role.
  • Adhere to a personal plan of professional development and growth through professional affiliations, activities and continuing education. Responsible for special projects as requested by leadership.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree from accredited college required.
Valid license and Certification. Be in good standing with both the BOC and LSBME.
Hold and maintain AHA or Red Cross CPR and AED certification.
Prior experience as an ATC is desired
Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to learn computerized medical office work.
Reliable form of transportation to work daily
Ability to pass a drug screening
Ability to learn computerized medical office work
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $47,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
