St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Certified Anesthesia Technician to join our Surgical Services team.
Position Summary
Under supervision of a licensed provider, the Certified Anesthesia Technician assists with routine to complex procedures before, during, and after anesthesia procedures. Schedule- Mon-Thursday 18:30-5:00am, call x1 a month, x2 holiday shift coverage in a 12- month period.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, assists anesthesia providers by setting-up equipment and preparing medications.
- Assists the licensed provider with patient assessments, evaluations, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines and airway management.
- Assists the licensed provider in clinical settings such as the operating room (OR), obstetrics suite (OB), interventional and or diagnostic radiology, Post anesthesia care unit (PACU).
- Assists in direct patient care under supervision in routine & emergency situations.
- Acts as a resource and collaborates with other resources and departments by providing technical guidance and instruction as appropriate.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: 2 years’s clinical experience
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification
- Must have current certification in one or more of the following areas:
- Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAT)
- National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of Practice
- Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant
