Centrifuge Plant Operator

North Star Feeds operates a fats and oils storage and processing facility in Atchison KS. The Plant Operator position is located in Atchison KS. The ideal candidate will have good basic mechanical knowledge, good interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.

Job Description: Unique opportunity to be a plant operator with a growing private fats and oils company. The company operates a processing and storage facility within the renewable energy supply chain.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a centrifuge processing line utilizing an HMI
• Work with engineers to monitor processing to conditions to ensure desired product is produced
• Assist in executing the weekly receipt and loading of products via tank and railcar
• Schedule tank car switching
• Gauge tanks, trucks, and railcars by strapping method
• Input inventory data into inventory spreadsheet in Google Sheets
• Receive, weigh, sample, analyze, and unload product delivered by tank truck and railcar
• Pump products between tanks by setting pumps and meters
• Monitor boiler operations in accordance with prescribed procedures and state regulatory requirements
• Operate and troubleshoot steam tracing and air compressors
• Operate wastewater treatment in accordance with company procedures and city regulations
• Any other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Maintenance experience preferred, with general mechanical knowledge and abilities, follow instructions, work independently in an outdoor environment, work a computer and use the Google Suite of software
(drive, docs, gmail), l ift to 50+ lbs, climb stairs, possess good people skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.'

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
