Job description

SUMMARY  

Responsible for managing and planning the inventory supply to meet customer demand. Must have the ability to understand the supply chain from upstream to downstream aspects for short- and long-term planning. Works with internal business partners and external resources to provide application systems that enable functional processes. This position will engage with multiple functions to ensure organizational alignment and influence for timely and critical management decision-making for meeting customer reliability targets.  

 

This position requires excellent analytical skills along with, interpersonal, written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.  This position also requires an individual who is tenacious and will do whatever it takes to complete the job at hand. Problem solving, organizational skills, and understanding of Pella Supply Management principles and policies are a must.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for driving efficiencies. Look at current processes and determine methods for improvement regarding cuttings costs, removing waste/complexity, procurement data analysis, systems updates, providing serviceable solutions, controlling, and replenishing inventory consumed in multiple manufacturing locations. 
  • Responsible for managing and mitigating risk without losing site of delivering to the end customer.  
  • Uses technological tools and internal data to generate reports that detail efficiencies as well as areas needing improvement. Able to lead projects/meetings and clearly present data to the team. Ability to utilize and troubleshoot technical systems & inputs (conversions, configurator, BOM's, ATO models, ATO options, Agile, Thrive, Oracle EBS, Oracle VCP, forecast & consumption) to improve supply and demand. 
  • Ability to balance production control scenarios and synchronize Pella systems to link supply and demand for purchasing the right parts, at the right place, at the right time for the Corporate Materials Management team.  
  • Designs and customizes system improvements correctly mapping between Oracle EBS, Oracle VCP, BOM's, product family structures, production and make parts, that drive and consume forecasts to support and balance live demand and stock build programs. 
  • Proactively identify supply & demand opportunities; designs appropriate analytical approach and leads analysis to formulate actionable recommendations.Implement defined projects with limited direction.
  • Complete ownership for the corporation's planning bill of materials including the creation and maintenance of new/existing product families/models within Oracle. Ability to create and manage Oracle forecasts. 
  • Understands and establishing of Pella forecasting principles.  Mapping, change orders, building custom product families and planning bill of materials to support live demand and stock build programs. 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment focused on actions, solutions, and high customer satisfaction. 
  • Capable of transitioning between independent and collaborative work environments. 
  • Ability to translate demand information to plan and order the correct inventory levels at each manufacturing location. Proactively communicates critical changes to demand to downstream partners.
  • Works closely with many different departments and plants to assure that proper communication is relayed to both Pella personnel as well as suppliers. In many instances, this person works closely with both internal customers (IT, engineering, factory, marketing, logistics, production control and office personnel) and suppliers.  
  • Overnight travel to Pella manufacturing plants and suppliers is expected with this position.  Travel is estimated as <5% of the time but fluctuates based on business needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

A Bachelor's degree in a business or a related supply chain field or the equivalent of combination of education and experience. CPSM, CPM, or CPIM certification a plus. In-depth knowledge of the Oracle Purchasing system is required; as well as how they inter-relate between Supply Management, Receiving, Issuing, Finance, IT, & Operations. 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS  

Word, Advanced Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Oracle. Experience with Supply Chain Systems, including but not limited to: ERP systems, Transportation Management, Quality Management Systems is a plus.  

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS  

None required, but prefer a CPSM, CPM, and/or CPIM.
