Job Duties
Responsible for purchasing and maintaining all nursing supplies and resident care equipment. Routine medical supplies will be stocked daily in the supply rooms on each unit. Items that are not stocked in the supply rooms will be dispensed as needed. Maintain a neat and clean work area. Completes AP invoices and ensures all purchases are in compliance with DPS and DMVCC policy and procedures. Responsible for maintaining his/her own Visa log and documentation. Maintains accurate records showing accountability for all medical supplies.
Assists the Finance Department in the purchasing of items for other departments in the facility. Assists the Finance Department in the processing of procurement documentation for other departments.
All other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager. Purchasing Card holders must follow all of the policy and procedures for having a purchasing card.
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
Computer experience. Effective communication and interaction with staff. Basic math skills. Knowledge of different types of medical supplies and how to obtain needed items. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia Procurement policies.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
Experience with governmental purchasing (or state) not required but helpful.
