Central Supply Clerk

Experience: At least one year experience in a SNF

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of departmental needs, cost reimbursement, and use of purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, inventory rotation and aging of inventory of supplies. Central supply uses their planning and organization skills to procure necessary materials and supplies for nursing homes. Work with vendors, research new products, and maintain supply rooms.

A Central Supply Clerk issues supplies to specific staff or departments and ensure that vendors provide appropriate safety sheets and materials. They maintain a reference of procurement procedures, current standards, and regulations, as well as ensure that the appropriate departments are charged for equipment or supplies. They help develop supply budgets, organize storage areas, place items in storage bins and supervise the use of supplies in the accordance with federals law or company guidelines.

Knowledge of strategic planning and resource allocation principles are necessary requirements. Basic math and accounting skills are needed for budgeting budgets and expenses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist with the purchasing and maintaining stock of necessary supplies for all departments.
2. Receive and distribute all supplies to all departments on a timely basis.
3. Maintain inventory control on all stock, keeping constant check on price with vendor quotes on a regular basis.
4. Assist all department heads with information on literature on any cost savings or suggestions on changes in the market.
5. Verify all packing receipts with signature and date of receipt of goods.
6. Compare purchase order prices with invoice and assist Accounts Payable with payables.
7. Maintain a good relationship with all vendors.
8. Any Other duties requested by supervisor.

Salary/ Wage Range

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
