Central Receiving Manager

Position Information

Under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Director, provides oversight
and management of functional daily activities of the Central Receiving
Department, which includes Central Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving
and Mail Room/Post Office.

Oversight of inventory for the university;
Oversight and inventory of university supplies;
Oversight of delivery of university supplies and equipment;
Oversight and coordination of pickup, disposal and/or transfer of
materials and equipment;
Oversight of disposal of surplus items through auctions;
Supervise Central Receiving and Post Office employees;
Perform miscellaneous hob-related duties as assigned;
Maintain regular attendance;
Assist with audit preparation and reporting;
Assist with Board of Regent preparation and reporting

1 year experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management
1 year experience in Warehouse or Central Receiving
Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and odd hours as required
Ability to Operate Forklift
Higher Education Experience

Bachelors Degree from a Accredited Institution of Higher Learning
Knowledge of Ellucian Banner ERP System or other Oracle Based Software
Knowledge of NM State Procurement Code

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
Ability to lead and supervise staff;
Ability to use good judgement;
Ability to maintain exception customer service and people skills;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
faculty, students, and staff;
Ability to solve problems by showing effective people skills;
Ability to innovate and strategically plan for future technologies and
advancements in related fields of expertise;
Ability to work with numerous interruptions.

Must regularly lift and/or move over fifty (50) pounds;
Standing for occasional periods of time;
Kneel, bend, reach and stoop;
Walking for extended periods of time.

Occasionally work in dirty/dusty conditions;
Occasionally work around fumes/odors;
Occasionally work with hazardous chemicals;
Regularly work with mechanical hazards;
Regularly work indoor/outdoor conditions.
