Job Summary
Central Dispatchers have an "I got this" attitude as they balance multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with constant changes in process and strategy. Continuous improvement is vital for dispatchers as they learn about aggregate uses in construction and the unique capabilities of trucks & drivers. Dispatchers develop and maintain an excellent sense of geography & haul routes. They have excellent time management skills, managing a fleet of 50-60 trucks, taking all customer orders, and providing exceptional customer service. They are flexible as they support multiple departments across six sites in the company.

What Central Dispatchers do

· They quickly and accurately generate tickets for trucks

· They strategically dispatch trucks, ensuring all necessary information is communicated

· They identify, manage, and create new orders based on in-bound calls and accepted quotes.

· They identify loaded products visually, ensuring all loads shipped contain the correct material.

· They ensure proper billing and accurate accounting in reviewing daily scale tickets.

· They work with accounting to collect and organize payments for specific customers.

· They provide communication and clerical support to sales & loading team members at all sites.

· They support the Sales Manager, creating orders & quotes, and assisting with quote follow-up.

· They know the functional and technical properties of LSP products and their applications.

· They obsess about details in identifying & managing new trucks, customers, and jobs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Math, reading, and writing skills (English at minimum, Spanish is a plus)
  • Professional written and oral communication
  • 2+ years in a fast-paced customer service position
  • Expertise with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive
  • Punctual and reliable, excellent attendance required
  • Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Embrace a team environment where all members contribute to the success of the operation
  • Willing to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, learning and performing a variety of jobs
  • Must past pre-employment physical and drug screen

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit for long periods and occasionally crawl, climb, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift (50 lbs.).

Employees must understand issues, problems, and opportunities and make timely, sound decisions. Take responsibility for decisions, understand the impact and implications, and provide feedback as necessary. Communicate with other employees and customers, perform administrative tasks, and have personal management skills. Possess advanced customer service skills and the ability to develop professional relationships with customers and employees. Demonstrate attention to detail, exert high effort, and focus on hectic days. Must be able to make sound decisions and remain calm under high-pressure situations. Must continually identify personal knowledge and perspective gaps and self-educate.

Employees must wear company-provided branded clothing while at work. A variety of branded clothing is available to purchase using an annual budget provided by the company.

Working Environment

Up to 100% of time spent in an office with exposure to manufacturing environments around industrial equipment. The environment will be dusty and, at times, experience loud noises with exposure to various industrial odors. Work does not require travel within the day but may require the coverage of similar positions at other locations. Hours are flexible and based on the customer's needs; generally, 6 am until 5 pm Monday through Friday, and 6 am until 12 pm Saturdays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
