*Responsible To:* Program Director

The Site Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include supervising a child care and development program operated at the site level; providing service in the care, development, and instruction of children in a child care and development program; and serving as coordinator of curriculum and staff development in a child care and development program. This includes developing age-appropriate programs for children, supervising assigned staff, and working effectively with children, administration/staff, and parents adhering to state guidelines. This is a 10-month position based on the calendar school year.

Compensation:

$24.50 hourly

*Planning and Guiding Early Learning and Development*

  • Explains the functions and requirements of various regulatory agencies to staff
  • Encourages staff to set professional and educational goals

*Creating and Maintaining Program Policies and Practices*

  • Monitors and assesses program policies and procedures for effectiveness and compliance with regulations and requirements
  • Plans and implements program self-evaluation and improvement plans to promote positive outcomes for children and families
  • Promotes high-quality standards and practices among staff.
  • Ensures that a climate of continuous improvement is provided so that individuals can seek education and professional growth
  • Collaborates with staff to develop goals for the program.

Qualifications:

*Minimum Qualifications for Associate Teacher:*

  • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit.
  • Completion of a baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Title5/Title 22 Regulations.

*Essential Physical Functions (including classroom and outdoor environments)*

  • Physically capable to respond in a timely manner to the children’s needs, emergencies and conflicts that may occur within a child care center environment.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. (from floor to waist) in a repetitive manner.
  • Physically capable to assist children when needed to ensure their safety in the play area
  • Physically able to crouch, squat, sit and stand on the floor (up to 30 minutes), to relate to the children in their environment
  • Able to handle commotion, high noise levels, and pressures of the Center on a daily basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
