Cemetery Funeral Escort

`We are seeking a part time as needed Cemetery escort to lead in funerals to various burial site on day of funeral and burial.

You will be trained by Superintendent on how to lead in funerals and various responsibilities involved with this position.

Typical description of duties:

Lead funeral to grave site.

Assist in parking cars.

Inform funeral director on instructions on leading casket to grave site, example: which way the deceased is to be carried onto grave site.

Assist in collecting funeral flags on funeral procession vehicles.

Stay at grave site until casket/urn and or vault have been lowered into the ground or placed in crypt/niche.

Average funeral time from time of entry into cemetery is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. If only one funeral that day you will be paid a minimum amount of hours to offset the times. If more than one funeral in a day you will have down time to eat and take breaks in between.

Semi professional look is recommended, since you will be seen by families.

Company vehicle provided.

Pay is bi-weekly and on Wednesdays. Hours will vary based on how many funerals we have. We usually know at least 3 days prior if we have a funeral scheduled or not.

Perfect position for retired individual, or someone looking to make some extra income during the day.

Typical hours are no earlier than 9:30 to no later than 4pm M-F and 9:30 to 1:30 on Saturdays. Sundays we are closed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• Weekends as needed
