Cellar / Brewery Operator - Second/Third Shift - Milwaukee, WI
Pilot Project Brewing is looking to bring on a highly qualified brewery team member to fill in second and occasional third shift duties (working until 2-3 AM, 4-5 nights a month). This position will play a massive role bringing Pilot Project and its Brand’s products to life and this role will touch every product that comes through Pilot Project’s Milwaukee production facility. With Pilot’s multi-faceted beverage production, the type of work to be completed daily is always evolving. This person will use their extensive production brewery experience to help fill in the gaps of the cellar, packaging CIPs, and occasional brewing as needed.
Responsibilities:
Support brewing team as a dedicated cellar worker assisting with all responsibilities of maintaining a cellar, its products, and operations adhering to Pilot Project Brewing’s highest standards
Monitor and document batches from start to finish in accordance with Pilot Project’s SOP and safety protocols.
Ensure proper CIP / SIP of brewing and fermentation tanks, kegs, and can/keg fillers
Work with QA to perform accurate yeast harvesting and pitching practices
Operate a centrifuge, filtration and pasteurizer as scheduled
Blending of RTD and beyond-beer beverage products to proper specifications
Dry hopping tanks on scissor lift
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cellar areas and hop cooler.
Keep log of all cellaring related notes and checklists through fermentation and packaging
Support preventative maintenance on brewhouse and cellar equipment
Support barrel work and documentation
Keep proactive communication with management to ensure proper production filings and inventory
Adhere to established schedule including weekend and occasional holiday work
Act in the best interest of Pilot Project Brewing, its clients, and team members across all company functions and be a team player
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a brewery setting or similar required. Compensation will be based on experience.
Mechanical knowledge of proper use of tools and machinery
An aptitude for troubleshooting and staying proactive with maintenance
Ability to remain on your feet for the entire shift
Punctual to start every day with flexible finishing times
Maintain a high standard for quality, attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to work under pressure and under deadlines.
Comfort with flexible daily working schedules with occasional late nights and weekend work
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Lift 50-60 lbs, must regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs throughout shift
Climb ladders up to 20 feet and operate a scissor lift.
Safely bend at knees to lift objects and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Frequently duck under conveyors/equipment.
Climb stairs multiple times during a shift.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation.
The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently.
