Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and implementation of projects relating to the Chargemaster (CDM) and its related charging mechanisms at UCSD. This position plays a critical role in revenue capture, revenue improvement opportunities, and accurate and compliant billing. Coordinate changes to all related hospital systems, dictionaries and processes impacted by assigned charge processing projects including coding, charge assignment, updates to hospital information systems, financial/operational impact analysis and review.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.

  • Experience and proven success in data analysis and CDM. Ability to identify deficiencies in financial documents and reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Initiate, implement and communicate all chargemaster and charge process changes related to assigned projects in a timely fashion to comply with internal and external deadlines.
  • In conjunction with clinical cost centers, ensure that charging documents and charge capture systems are updated to allow for the accurate charge capture.
  • Work collaboratively with departments across the health system including, but not limited to, clinical cost centers, compliance, HIM, finance, Information Technology (IT), and patient financial services
  • Initiate, track, and monitor CDM projects to bring to successful completion in designated timeframes.
  • Coordinate timely audits to validate that additions and changes made to the CDM are working as intended and do not result in adverse effects or claim denials.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,400 - $142,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.36 - $68.39

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
