JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a CDL Driver to join our Pompano Beach, FL branch team.

The CDL Driver will ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe delivery of merchandise to job sites using vehicles that require a CDL Class-A License to Operate. The ideal individual will maintain a high level of customer service in order to enhance the customer experience for deliveries.

This is a full-time (40 hours a week) position, that will work 6 AM - 3 PM, M-F. **Potential for overtime in some cases!*

** A valid Class-A Commercial Driver's License and DOT Medical Card are required. Must pass all DOT requirements including physical examination and drug screen.

• The salary range for this position is $23-$26 per hour. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining Electronic Driver Logs, as well as, completing pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Use of a Truck Mounted Forklift (TMF) is required
• Provide quality service to customers using clear communication skills when unloading the material at the point of delivery
• Be knowledgeable regarding all company products and services
• Load the truck, inspect loaded truck for accuracy of order, compliance with weight restrictions, and proper securing of load
• Maintain accurate records for submission to Fleet Department
• Ensure safety of vehicle; report all mechanical problems promptly to Fleet Department
• Ensure safety and proper performance on company property, job site, and in transit; Always requiring the use of proper safety gear, including hard hats and steel toe shoes
• Address property-damage or personal injury occurrences immediately, including calling for medical attention, as needed.
• Perform warehouse duties as needed, including picking, packing and shipping, as needed
• Utilize warehouse forklifts for moving inventory
• All Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Forklift Training/Certification
• Truck Mounted Forklift Training/Certification

• Knowledge of the Verizon Connects software for maintaining Electronic Drivers Logs, Pre and Post Trip Inspections a bonus (training is available if needed)
• Satisfactory driving record, per company policy

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

• Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, and hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
• Frequently and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 80-90 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
