CDL Class B Driver / Hydro Excavation Operator

York Hydro Vac, a Total Wash Services, Inc. company based out of Dover PA, is searching for hardworking, responsible, and dependable Hydro Excavation Operators with a valid Class B CDL.

An experienced Hydro Excavation Operator with a CDL license having 5 years of experience can expect to start at up to $30.00 per hour. The starting rate will depend on combined CDL and Hydro Excavation experience. Driving our Hydro Excavation trucks requires a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement with no restrictions.

We are willing to train the right candidate and will consider paying for CDL training. The candidate who has no experience or CDL license can expect to earn up to $27.00 / per hour within 3 years of passing their CDL licensing; however, that rate is not guaranteed, and will depend on the candidates performance in all areas. The candidate who requires very little supervision and proves themselves in all areas, can expect to be up to $30.00 per hour within 3 years of passing their CDL.

Part-time candidates must be able to work full work days M-F.

Candidates must live within 45 driving minutes of our shop location. Start time is 6:00 am, or earlier, Monday-Friday. The day ends when the job is complete, and the truck is back at the shop.

Work Description:

Hydro Excavation operators will drive the vac truck to and from the shop, fuel the truck, fill water tanks, operate on-board vacuum and pressurized water system, empty tanks, clean and maintain truck, service and perform minor repairs as needed. Once at the job site, the driver / operator will be safely operating company supplied equipment in locating underground utilities to the specifications of the customer. This is NOT a driving only position, and you will get dirty. This is labor intensive work in all types of weather conditions, normally outdoors, and year round.

• Must be dependable, a self starter, and customer service oriented
• Must be able to drive, lift, pull, or drag up to 50 lbs., sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb ladders
• Must wear all PPE and perform all duties in a safe manner
• Must adhere to all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Must adhere to all customer regulations
• Candidate must agree to drug & alcohol testing upon hire and random drug screenings
• Must be willing to work flexible hours based upon our customers job requirements, normally 8-14 hours a day (5) days a week. You must be willing to work until the job is completed. There are occasions where we may offer evening, overnight or weekend hours.
• This is road construction so weather will dictate if we work.
