Commercial Works is looking to add an ExperiencedCDL and Non-CDL drivers to their growing team in Indianapolis, IN. At Commercial Works, it's all about the experience. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company 26' box trucks to transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving and operate vehicles in a defensive manner to ensure the safety of oneself and others on the road.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Load and unload materials and equipment onto and from trucks, ensuring proper distribution of weight and securement of cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Verify load contents against shipping documents and ensure accuracy and completeness of deliveries.
- Use appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks, to assist with loading and unloading as needed.
- Plan efficient routes to job sites, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and delivery schedules, to minimize travel time and optimize fuel efficiency.
- Use GPS navigation systems to navigate unfamiliar routes and ensure timely arrival at destinations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and project managers to provide updates on delivery status and any deviations from planned routes.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation, and submit reports in a timely manner as required.
- Collect signatures or other proof of delivery from recipients and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations to management immediately and cooperate with investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years local route driving experience in commercial vehicles preferred, but not required.
- Possess a clean safety and driving record.
- Able to read, write and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignments.
- Able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Possess knowledge of truck components to complete pre and post trip inspections
- Able to repeatedly reach, bend, lift, pull and push materials up to 50lbs.
