Salary: $22/hour

We are now hiring a full-time Catering Sous Chef position to support our catering operations.


Schedule: Variable dependent on business need. Open availability required. 


Compensation: $22/hour


Requirement: Culinary degree and/or prior Sous Chef and catering production experience preferred. 


Job Summary: Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times. Coordinates activities of cooks and other food-service associates. Assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of Executive Chef. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
  • Assist Executive Chef with supervision of back of house food service associates and activities.
  • Create production sheet and distribute to associates daily.
  • Support Executive Chef with ordering and inventory control.
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
  • Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
  • Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils. Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area. Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements.
  • Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Relays relevant information directly to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
  • Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
  • Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies. Tracks product production, consumption and waste. Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low.
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings. Lead meetings in absence of Chef Manager
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
