It’s Catering Event Season! Rita’s Catering, a premier catering service in the greater Boston area, is looking to hire seasonal, part-time and full-time Event Staff. Come join our growing and busy Events Team today!
Positions Available:
Managers:
$40/Hour – Managers are expected to be the first person on-site to Rita’s for all events. Managers work directly with the Pack Out Specialists and Catering Event Coordinator to ensure that the delivery vehicles are loaded properly. They are responsible for reviewing the event invoice prior to their shift and taking ownership of both the details and overall presentation of the event on site. Clocking in staff via the NOWSTA app as well as ensuring final liquor consumption and any rented materials are all accounted for upon returning to Rita’s post event is an essential job function for Event Managers.
Servers:
$30/Hour – Servers are expected to arrive either to Rita’s or to the event venue at their scheduled time and assist with any pack out or set up tasks upon arrival. All servers are required to dress in the specified uniform for the event and maintain the client requested level of PPE protection throughout the event.
Bartenders:
$30/Hour – Bartenders are responsible for taking a tally of the alcohol delivered to the event site as well as track all alcohol consumption throughout the event and provide this log to the event Manager prior to clocking out at the event close.
Chefs:
$40/Hour – Chefs are responsible for reviewing the event invoice and ensuring that all food products and kitchen wares needed to prepare and plate meals on site are included in the pack out by communicating all these needs to the Catering Event Coordinator prior to leaving Rita’s. Once on site, Chefs are responsible for keeping a clean and organized prep space, making as little a footprint as possible in the client’s space and producing the required food items for the event in a timely fashion. Chef’s may also be asked to intermingle with the clients post meal as requested and should maintain a clean personal appearance throughout the event for this reason.
Culinary Staff:
$30/Hour – Culinary staff is responsible for assisting with the food preparation and presentation. These responsibilities generally include reheating, plating and garnishing appetizers and dishes that have already been fully prepared by Rita’s kitchen. On events where there is no Chef on site, Culinary staff may be responsible for reviewing the event invoice prior to leaving Rita’s and communicating any specific needs for food preparation and presentation to the Catering Event Coordinator.
Setup Staff:
$30/Hour – Setup staff are generally responsible for hauling equipment or alcohol to and from rental hub and event sites. Working as Setup staff is typically either before or after an actual event is taking place and often offers shifts between 3-5 hours at most. The ideal candidate for Setup staff would be able to lift over 50lbs comfortably, be familiar with driving delivery vans and or box trucks, and able to take basic directions and follow event floorplans.
All Event Staff positions at Rita’s are on an as needed basis.
