Job description

SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we're simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.

By catering to both consumers and enterprises, we're powering a new, open entertainment ecosystem where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues, and shows have seamless access to their audiences. Because everyone should expect more from ticketing.

As a Catalog Specialist, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and improving the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of information about events and inventory on our ever-growing SeatGeek platform; both as a broad mission impacting our whole customer and employee bases, and as it relates to allowing our inventory to match to events optimally.

Working with various people across Marketplace Operations, Customer Experience, Inventory, Marketing and others, you will contribute to both reactive and proactive event work; drive substantial revenue savings and captures; prepare for important on-sales (including league and festival season), save and drive substantial amounts of GTV through event accuracy, matching inventory, regularly QA our existing venues / performers, and more.

The Catalog Specialist reports to the Catalog Manager and is a member of the broader Event Operations team. It is a highly technical, detail-oriented, and collaborative role.

What you'll do
  • Rapidly address urgent event issues relating to details managed within our internal events and inventory matching platform: both reactive and proactive work.
  • Focus on maintaining information housed within our internal event platform, especially as it relates to the accuracy of performers, venues, and events live on SeatGeek.
  • Monitor resources such as ShowsOnSale, Consequence of Sound, or Billboard; in addition to internal sources, frequently for tour announcements, cancellations, festivals lineups, postponement alerts, and periphery news that may impact customers and drive revenue.
    • Potential to take on leadership role in regard to on-sale alerting, work done in tandem with various stakeholders on new tour announcements to get the site up to speed on an ASAP basis.
  • In the case of event cancellations / postponements, all affected dates must be individually assessed for updates, inventory re-matched to new dates, with the possibility of creating internal notes to assist customer experience with any incoming volume as a result of these updates.
  • Respond to and investigate customer reported event updates or mismatches where tickets may be incorrect to what was advertised.
    • Collaborating with Customer Experience and Broker teams to handle wide-ranging event updates which may impact buyers and sellers.
  • Handle real time updates for high profile events that require immediate attention, such as March Madness, Playoffs, and selection days. This requires a high amount of flexibility in regards to scheduling.
  • QA high profile events, and schedule announcements utilizing internal tooling to prevent incorrect listings and sales.
  • Manually match inventory to events; assessing reasoning as to why automated processes did not effectively work and actioning accordingly.
  • Other Marketplace / Catalog responsibilities, which may include assisting other teams with offboarded tasks or high profile projects as needed.
  • Potential schedule would require weekend work
What you have

  • Superior communication skills; written and spoken

  • Goal-oriented and action-oriented
  • Self-sufficient and confident in ability to research
  • Strong analytical and technical skill set
  • Is not easily flustered or intimidated by heavy workload with wide-impact
  • Confidence in work, and ability to execute independently
  • Knowledge of the live event industry, bonus for familiarity with a wide variety of event types and quirks therein
  • Prior work collaborating with Product and Marketing teams preferred
  • Imaginative and passionate in optimizing workflows and tooling
Perks
