Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators, provide assistance
with research and evaluation tasks related to the development and delivery of a new Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology course for the Office of Public Health Studies at UH Manoa
2. Organize meetings with Hawaii State, academic, and community stakeholders regarding the content and outputs of this new course, to include note-taking, taking of minutes, collating comments, and presentation of progress updates
3. Assist with data collection, including developing surveys and questionnaires and data entry
4. Prepare data sets for qualitative and quantitative analysis
5. Transcribe interviews and assist with qualitative coding and analysis tasks
6. Assist in developing course materials including collecting references and creating presentations and exercises
7. Assist with abstract, manuscript, and report writing
8. Participate in teaching the course, as interested
9. Assist in course evaluation including conducting process and outcome (pre- and post- course student evaluations)
10. Participate in presentation of curriculum development process at national conferences
11. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field
2. Knowledge of Maternal and Child Health and epidemiology
3. Experience creating course and lecture materials for undergraduate or graduate students
4. Experience in conducting stakeholder meetings and focus groups in professional settings
5. Experience in conducting process and or outcome evaluations
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
7. Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis
8. Strong oral and written communication skills
9. Detail oriented and organized
10. Responsible, dependable, and efficient
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Skills in quantitative analyses including epidemiology and biostatistics, as evidenced by coursework and/or experience
2. Knowledge and interest in clinical domains of Maternal and Child Health, such as reproduction and pregnancy, infant and Child development
3. Experience with statistical software, such as R or Stata
4. Previous experience working with priority Maternal and Child Health populations in Hawaii that experience health inequities
5. Experience preparing research reports and/or scientific publications
6. Experience preparing evaluation reports
7. Experience with data presentations and data visualizations
