The SAHARA Bar Porter is part of the critical foundation for all bar operations. In order for our bars to function properly, we require our Bar Porters to work incredibly hard and be in constant communication with the bar staff as well as the rest of the Service Team. Bar Porters are an integral part of the bar team. It is their responsibility to ensure that the bar is always stocked with necessary items for proper service and to expedite guests' drink orders by providing quick and efficient support to the bar team.
Job Focus:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
- Cleans bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, drains, refrigerators, coolers and other bar appliances in accordance with SAHARA policies as well as the Clark County Health Standards
- Ensures all soda gun products, fruit garnishes, and mixes meets service standards
- Maintains par levels to assigned bars with product and supplies and keeps the assigned bars stocked with product and supplies throughout each scheduled shift
- Collects, unpacks and distributes weekly/daily product order from receiving and brings to assigned bars
- Completes required paperwork including bar transfers and dry stock deliveries
- Maintains floors and keeps them free of garbage or debris
- Ensures sanitation buckets are on job station and maintains proper sanitation solution and clean towels
- Removes trash from bars in a safe manner
Desired Qualifications:
- Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required
- Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift and work inside assigned bar area in the venue
- Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
- Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time - sometimes within a small area
- Requires the ability to work within a team environment. If hired in as a steady extra (SE) position, the Bar Porter must be available to work all shifts, to include Day, Swing and Grave shifts
- At minimum 1 year experience as a Bar Porter, preferably in a high-volume nightclub or high-volume casino beverage
- Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain Nevada food handlers safety card, alcohol awareness card and Nevada non-gaming card
- Requires the ability to work within a team environment. If hired in as a steady extra (SE) position, the Apprentice Bartender-Model must be available to work all shifts, to include Day, Swing and Grave shifts
