Cashier/Scale Operator

In anticipation of the coming busy season and to help cover for another team member's leave, we will be looking to add one temporary, flexible, part-time Cashier/Scale Operator to our team to start in April or May for approximately 15-18 average hours per week. The position will be evaluated in August or September to determine the end date of the position or if it will be extended. RDS is open every day. Preference will be given to those available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, as well as weekdays. SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
The cashier is the first and last person a customer interacts with when they come to
RDS. Having excellent customer service skills is essential for success in this position. The cashier will weigh vehicles in and out, generate the total due after drop-off of materials, and accept payment in the form of cash, check, or credit card. They will also provide quality customer service while answering customer questions and directing customers in a polite and efficient manner. Cashiers need to accurately execute customer monetary transactions and clearly communicate with customers and yard staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

- Able to consistently arrive to work on-time, fit for duty, and prepared
- Works well with others and has a positive attitude
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Able to effectively work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrates proper cash, check, and credit card handling skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Able to hear and see effectively for communication and safe operations
- Able to stand for up to 3 hours at a time
- Use a computer and type on a keyboard accurately and efficiently
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal

PREFERRED
- First Aid/CPR training certification
- 2 years experience in customer service/cashiering or a similar field

*Employment contingent on passing a background and drug test. Random drug testing is ongoing. Must be 18 years of age or older.
