Currently, we are seeking to hire folks who are evening owls and are able to work from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. These are closing shifts. You must be able to work on a weekend day as well. We have part time and full time positions available.

CASHIER/CUSTOMER SERVICE JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY:
To check out customer purchases and otherwise assist customers, to meet objectives for accuracy and provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service while maintaining all CoVid protocols ensuring individual and staff safety.
Reports to: Store Manager/Shift Leaders
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CASHIERING
Greet customers, smiling and making eye contact.
Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices and departments.
Call for back-up as needed so that customers wait as little as possible to be checked out.
Bag customer purchases as needed and ask customers if they need assistance. For those needing assistance, carry out groceries or call for staff help if available.
Log in and out of registers following established procedures.
Put flyers in bags, inform customers of specials and upcoming store events.
Maintain register area in clean, orderly condition.
Sanitize the checkout area including pin pads as on prescribed schedule.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Become familiar with store policies and take initiative to help customers with product questions. Refer unresolved questions or problems to Store Manager, Shift Leader or other appropriate staff.
Provide assistance with special orders.
Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service while waiting on customers and responding to phone calls.
Report customer suggestions, comments and complaints to appropriate management.
When processing deliveries, set aside special orders, match products with special order forms and notify customers.
Offer suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products in a friendly, courteous manner.
STOCKING
Stock displays fully without overcrowding; face items on shelves.
Rotate older stock to front, making space for new stock.
Pull short-date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of them.
Label items accurately with price tags or signs. Report price discrepancies to POS staff/department buyers.
Take inventories of department stock for buyers as requested. Notify buyers/POS staff of out-of-stocks.
Maintain stocking lists for later shifts.
Check for back stock when stocking.
DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
Keep shelves, coolers, bins and back stock in clean, orderly condition.
Dust and clean shelves and product when stocking.
Remove trash promptly, sweep and mop floor.
Keep department equipment in assigned area and in working order.
Use equipment safely. Advise Store Manager/Shift Leader of equipment problems.
Record department shrink promptly and accurately.
Participate in periodic inventory counts.
Sanitize areas of the store on prescribed schedule.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend general staff meetings and storewide meetings.
Perform other tasks assigned by Front End Manager/Shift Leader.
Follow all personal and company protocols implemented for sanitation and health meeting Harvest Market CoVid protocols.
Answer and route phone calls, take and route messages as needed.
Alert Store Manager/Shift Leader to potential shoplifters, disorderly customers or other emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience serving the public.
Familiarity with natural foods.
Accuracy, attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple demands.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Regular, predictable attendance.
Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. continuously.
Ability to wear face mask for up to an 8 hour shift.

Retail experience preferred but not necessary

High school graduate or equivalent
Pleasant and articulate
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work on your feet for a full shift
