As a Cashier for Chilangos Tacos Restaurant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front counter, processing customer orders, and assisting with various tasks to create a positive dining experience. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. One of the biggest responsibilities as a cashier will be to make the customers want to come back, to show case the daily specials and the menu items the Executive and Managers are pushing for the day.
Responsibilities:
-Accurately handle cash transactions, process credit/debit card payments, and provide appropriate change to customers.
-Take customer orders, enter them accurately into the point-of-sale (TOAST) system, and ensure prompt and accurate delivery to the kitchen staff.
-Provide friendly and efficient customer service, greet guests with a smile, answer questions, and resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a professional manner. If needed, get a manager involved immediately.
-Develop a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant menu to effectively answer customer inquiries, make recommendations, and upsell additional items, all of this while using your sales skills and your positive attitude. Please always keep in mind the value of the experience in favor of our guest.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the cash register, countertops, and dining area, to ensure a welcoming and sanitary environment.
-Coordinate with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure accurate order delivery, timely service, and overall customer satisfaction.
-Replenish the cash drawer as needed, reconcile cash at the end of each shift, and prepare accurate reports for management.
-Adhere to all cash handling procedures, company policies, and legal regulations to ensure accuracy, security, and integrity of transactions.
Skills:
-Must be bilingual.
- Outstanding customer service philosophy.
-Previous cashiering or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred but not required.
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure.
-Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
-Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-Must be TABC certified by the state of employment.
