Cashier, Hansen's Dairy Waterloo

Hansen's Dairy Waterloo is a small grocery store/ice cream parlor specializing in Hansen's Dairy products and other local foods.

We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated and detail-oriented team member. This employee will work midday to close shifts on three weekdays and Sundays.

Members of the Moo Crew will:

• Provide friendly and informational customer service while hand-selling the extraordinary products in the store
• Handle transactions in the point-of-sale system
• Scoop ice cream in proper methods and proportions
• Stock all shelves, coolers and freezers using proper method of first-in, first-out rotating
• Complete cleaning tasks — floors, dishes, counters, bathrooms, etc.

Essential functions

• Able to spend up to 100% of your shift on your feet
• Scoop hard-dip ice cream in proper proportions
• Able to carry 40 pounds
• Able to work short stints in a walk-in freezer (wearing jacket and gloves)
• Able to work both alone and with others
• Excellent listening, verbal, observational and computer skills with attention to detail
• Basic math, reading and writing skills with legible handwriting

Compensation

• Start at $11.00/hour
• 25% discount on retail items at Hansen’s Dairy stores in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Hudson; only the employee and the employee’s spouse are eligible for this discount, or parents if they are in the same household as employee
• Hansen’s Dairy clothing provided
• One to two scoops of ice cream while on shift (may not consume while working at the retail counter)
