Cashier / PJP Marketplace / Aramingo Avenue
Job Summary:
The PJP Marketplace Cashier will be responsible for assisting customers at checkout, greeting customers as they enter the store, and assisting others when needed. This role requires great personal skills and the ability to troubleshoot if there is a problem with a transaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists customers waiting for check out in the Marketplace store.
- Welcome customers with a friendly greeting.
- Scans items, requests price checks, honors appropriate coupons, collects payment and gives change as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining a balanced cash register drawer at end of shift.
- Must bag items for customer if requested.
- Answer questions and help resolve issues when they arise.
- Follow pre-determined script (if applicable) to collect information from customers.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledgeable of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the grocery/retail industry.
- Understands basic instructions and pre-established guidelines.
- Works under immediate supervision.
Abilities Required:
Standing for prolonged periods of time, sitting, walking, speaking, seeing, hearing, bending, and reaching. Sufficient dexterity required for keyboarding. Must be able to move products up to 20 pounds occasionally.
