JOB SUMMARY
The Cash Applications Representative is responsible for posting all incoming payments, including all batches created via the Net Deposit process, inbound wires and ACH (account clearing house) payments listed on the daily bank statements, and posting credit card batches generated by the Bookkeeper. The Cash Applications Representative also verifies and balances all incoming cash transactions to the bank and reports the information to staff accounts, based on business categories.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Net Deposit process automatically posts 80 - 85 percent of the checks processed, the remaining items along with all incoming wires, ACH (account clearing house) and credit cards must be manually posted. During this process each item is examined to ensure proper application. This stage may also entail detailed research and account analysis to determine where payments should be posted.
• Record all cash journals on a spreadsheet by category and day, and balance to the bank reports from the previous day.
• Build batches for wires and ACH payments.
• Send out notifications to collectors when money is deposited into an account when no backup is received.
• Coordinate all cash management department documents, including check legends, bank statements, and non-AR backup.
• Several times a day, various processes are run that are coordinated with Net Deposit and the AR (Accounts Receivable) Update to bring the Net Capture activity into PeopleSoft as system-generated worksheets.
• Run a process that automatically applies payments captured during the scanning process.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

• 5 years' experience in Cash Applications

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, management and inter-department staff.
• Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.

• Proficient use of MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Must be able to 10 Key and type accurately.
