Position Summary
Will support the implementation of Project ARK's HIV testing and other HIV prevention-related programs. The position will be involved in both direct service delivery and administrative activities to support the HIV prevention program. There will be a focused effort on the coordination and delivery of HIV prevention services with Women of Color. The position will work closely with the Project ARK/SPOT prevention leadership staff to ensure HIV prevention services are delivered in accordance with grant requirements and organizational policies.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
HIV/STI Testing
  • Conduct HIV/STI counseling and testing in the office and in outreach settings, which includes handling/transporting blood and urine specimens.
  • Coordinate outreach testing activities by identifying community partners and outreach sites to increase access to HIV testing.
  • Assist with the promotion, distribution, and documentation of in-home HIV test kits to perform at home (by mail or pick up) in partnership with other testing staff and Social Media Coordinator.
  • Provide age and culturally appropriate support, referrals, and education to youth clients at risk for HIV/STDs and those living with HIV/AIDS, to include referrals to PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis).
  • Complete all required documentation for all HIV/STI testing and client interventions.
  • Assist with the training of new testing staff.

Women of Color Grant Coordination
  • Manage community condom distribution focused on serving Women of Color by identifying and maintaining communication and supplies for community distribution sites.
  • Implement HIV prevention education with Women of Color on an individual and group level.
  • Serve as the Co-Chair of the regional Women of Color Committee.
  • Work with Social Media Coordinator to develop social media posts and campaigns to HIV testing and PrEP engagement and address HIV stigma and education.
  • Support testing data collection and the completion of reports for the Women of Color HIV prevention grant.

Other Administrative Duties
  • Collaborate with key community stakeholders, including the St. Louis Regional HIV Coalition and associated committees to coordinate and enhance HIV prevention service delivery.
  • Assist with quality control and quality assurance tasks for the Project ARK HIV testing program, which may include managing the testing supply and condom inventory and test kit controls.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain required HIPAA compliance, skills/competencies and participate in staff trainings and meetings, continuing education, and cross-training programs according to established standards and Washington University policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Equivalent of a masters' degree in a health related field, such as social work, counseling, sociology, or psychology.
  • Experience working with youth/young adults from diverse backgrounds (i.e., youth of Color, LGBTQ+, youth with unstable housing, youth with behavioral health needs), as well as a professional and/or community engagement experiences that demonstrates a passion for diversity, inclusion and equity.
  • Experience with HIV/STI education and testing services.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with physicians, healthcare providers/workers, support staff, youth and caregivers.
  • Experience/knowledge working with electronic medical records and ability to maintain timely and accurate documentation, including Excel spreadsheets.

Required Qualifications
Equivalent of a bachelor's degree in a health related field, such as social work, counseling, sociology, or psychology. Applicants with a bachelor's degrees in other fields may be considered with sufficient case management experience.
Grade
C08-H
Salary Range
$20.17 - $30.24 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
