Description
Pinoleville Pomo Nation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Abuse Case Manager with extensive knowledge in the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children from Pinoleville Pomo Nation who are at risk of or have experienced abuse or neglect. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families while promoting cultural sensitivity and respect for tribal sovereignty.
Pay: $80,000/yr - DOE
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of child abuse and neglect cases involving tribal children and families, applying a trauma-informed and culturally competent approach.
• Develop culturally appropriate case plans that prioritize the preservation of family connections and cultural identity in accordance with ICWA guidelines.
• Provide advocacy and support to tribal children and families navigating the child welfare system, including court proceedings, case conferences, and family meetings.
• Coordinate services and resources to address the unique needs of tribal children and families, including access to culturally relevant counseling, traditional healing practices, and community-based support services.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of case activities, assessments, and interventions in compliance with Pinoleville Pomo Nation policies and ICWA requirements.
Qualifications:
• An associate's degree in public health, health and human services, social work, or related field.
• Experience working in child welfare, with a strong understanding of child abuse and neglect dynamics and interventions.
• In-depth knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and its application in child welfare practice.
• Strong assessment, communication, and advocacy skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
