Pursuant to regulation the pay range for this position is $29 - $34 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

“Essential Functions” are primarily job duties that candidates must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

  1. Help create and maintain client related files by scanning and filing matter related records, including client documents received.
  2. Provide records intake and distribution services by receiving, logging in and creating files for safety investigations, deposition transcripts, site inspections, and subpoenaed records. Scan and electronically file documents in Document Management system.
  3. Assist paralegals and attorneys with OSHA support needs and act as a liaison with outside vendor for bulk scanning and production services. Scan, review, index and code documents in appropriate client related databases.
  4. Assist paralegals and attorneys with preparation of witness files, site inspections, assemble deposition files, OSHA binders, OSHA notebooks and other hearing binders; assist with assembling exhibits in support of motions and hearings.
  5. Assist with docketing and coordinating case workflow for the nationwide Workplace Safety Practice Group.
  6. Organizing documents and bates labeling.
  7. E-file documents with appropriate courts and agencies.
  8. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Minimum education required Associate’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program is a plus.
  2. Workplace Safety and OSHA case related experience is a must. 
  3. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints is essential.
  4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys, paralegals and staff in person, by email and by telephone to provide information in an appropriate business manner.
  5. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  6. Ability to retrieve and distribute volumes, push and pull carts of materials weighing up to 20 pounds and ability to retrieve from and replace objects on shelves up to 8 feet high.
  7. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform essential duties of the position.  

WORKING CONDITIONS (Environment within which the work is performed):

  1. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
  2. Flexibility to work remotely and/or on a hybrid schedule when necessary or in line with Firm policies.
