BASIC FUNCTION: Provides substance use counseling/treatment services for adults in the DRS outpatient substance use treatment program. Services and interventions are based on input from the interdisciplinary treatment team and the clinical/program supervisor and compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Provides individualized, evidence-based counseling/treatment for substance use disorders and mental illness when indicated.
- Conducts client intakes, including psychosocial history and mental health screenings, makes clinical assessments, and designs person-centered treatment plans.
- Coordinates client treatment with other clinicians as indicated
- Establishes professional and therapeutic relationships and serves as a positive role model.
- Provides individual counseling, group and/or family counseling as indicated (some clients will have acute or chronic status; others will have rehabilitative status).
- Maintains client charts in regulatory compliance, updates treatment planning, and writes progress notes and psychosocial histories.
- Prepares required reports.
- Refers clients to other institutions for needed services.
- Sees unassigned clients at the request of the Director and designee.
- Performs administrative tasks as assigned by Director.
- Fills in for other staff who are on vacation.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
LOCATION: NY, NY 10002
RATE: $45,000.00 -$55,000 / year
