This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.Job Purpose and Impact The Carrier Representative will work with transportation company to move available freight within the organization's brokerage network. In this role, you will handle relationships with a moderately complex portfolio of carriers through prospecting and onboarding activities to ensure efficient, cost effective and profitable movement of goods for the organization.Key Accountabilities •    Partner with respective teams to support the placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio, standard operating processes, available capacity, and quality services.•    Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.•    Communicate with key carrier contacts on service issues and provide resolution.•    Maintain data and prepare reports in the organization's operating system to ensure accurate and timely information and relevant buying decisions.•    Participate in negotiations to support bids, price and service commitments which fulfill profit goals and service requirements.•    Provide contributions to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities, best practices, industry developments and events.•    Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.•    Other duties as assignedPosition Information •    The position is based in Ankeny, IA, and/or, Wichita, KS•    Relocation assistance is not provided for this roleQualifications Minimum Qualifications•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience•    Minimum of two years of related work experience•    Experience working in a brokerage, fleet operations, or in a supply chain positionPreferred Qualifications•    Experience in the following transportation modes (Reefer, Van, Flatbed, Full Truck Load)•    Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; ability to understand and prioritize business issues and impact•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent business software#LI-NA2Equal Opportunity Employer, including Disability/Vet
