Skilled Carpenter (Independent Contractor)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team as an independent contractor and provide assistance to Alex, an experienced carpenter. As an independent contractor, you will work closely with Alex on various carpentry projects, contributing your skills and expertise to ensure the successful completion of assignments. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate with a seasoned professional in the carpentry field.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Alex, the lead carpenter, to execute assigned projects efficiently and effectively.

2. Assist with interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and material needs.

3. Utilize basic hand tools, such as hammers, saws, chisels, levels, squares, and measuring tapes, as directed by Alex.

4. Aid in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials with precision, under Alex's guidance.

5. Assist in installing and repairing structures, including cabinets, furniture, doors, windows, stairs, and frames.

6. Support the installation of hardwood floors, trim, moldings, and other finishing touches.

7. Help inspect and repair damaged structures or fixtures under Alex's supervision.

8. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care and storage of tools and equipment.

9. Following Alex's lead, adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to promote a secure work environment.

10.Learn and develop carpentry skills under the mentorship of Alex, taking advantage of this valuable learning opportunity.

Requirements:

1. Basic knowledge and experience with carpentry, including the use of hand tools.

2. Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of Alex, a seasoned professional.

3. Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.

4. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Alex and other team members.

5. Reliable transportation to reach project sites is necessary.

6. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate project schedules.

7. A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

8. Commitment to safety practices and adherence to regulations.

9. Ability to follow instructions accurately and pay attention to detail.

10.Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and a desire to develop carpentry skills further.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.58 - $25.00 per hour
