POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Monitors the use of and inventories of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment
- Maintains and updates the maintenance log
- Makes recommendations for improving plant operations and efficiency
- Communicates directly with supervisors and operations departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
- Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs new/existing machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Cleans and lubricates parts for equipment and machinery
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
- Ability to work in harmony with others.
- Plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Mechanical maintenance and repairs on all plant's equipment.
- Routine maintenance and repairs on Air-Makeup and Exhaust equipment.
- Maintain maintenance records on all equipment and vehicles.
- Electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Work in dusty, humid, noisy environments
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties assigned
- Prior experience in composites or similar industry preferred
- Strong problem-solving ability including troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Physically capable of performing lifting, bending & twisting from the waist
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
- Ability to work in harmony with others while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with overall success in mind
- Evidence of a satisfactory work record including performance, attendance and teamwork
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with issues logically and within the company guidelines
- Capable of working on heights.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers and small hand tools
- Able to work well with minimal supervision
- Available for overtime as needed
