Caregiving/Team Member For Medically Fragile-Urgent Hire

Interfaith Sanctuary is currently seeking a full-time Caregiver/Team Member for our medically fragile program. We serve people of all genders, races, religions, and sexual orientation, as well as families with children by providing safe overnight shelter, case management and programs to assist with their transition out of homelessness.

The Caregiver/Team Member plays a very important role for our homeless guests. This is hands on, making a difference, being part of changing a person’s life. This position is at our medically fragile and family program currently operating within a hotel.

You are there to help guests manage the rules of the shelter, navigate their own personal needs and provide a healthy and safe shelter environment for the guests, volunteers and other staff members in a respectful, compassionate and dignified way.

· Must be dependable and exhibit authority in a kind, calm manner

· Must be comfortable working with guests who struggle with meeting their activities of daily living and have higher medical needs.

· Must consistently communicate and uphold shelter policies and procedures.

· Must be a team player and willing to help where it is needed

Responsibilities will include assisting with:

• Assisting guests with basic needs and activities of daily living
• Manage guest hospitality needs
• Assisting with room cleanliness and readying vacated rooms
• Assist with room checks to ensure guests are following policies and procedures
• Transportation needs in company vehicle to doctor appointments, pharmacy, and stores.
• Ensuring guests health and safety are monitored and protected.
• Directly reports to Program Supervisor/Shelter Director

Compensation: $20 per hour

Compensation will be paid for a full 40 hour work while hours worked will be during the day. This unique position also requires the employee to sleep overnight 3 nights a week with staff phone in case of emergency. Staff hotel room will be provided.

Schedule: Wednesdays 2-10pm, Thursdays and Fridays 10:30am-9:30pm (with a break in between), Saturdays 8am-4pm.

Sleep overnight Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and alternating Saturday.
