Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to clients in their homes or assisted living facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices and techniques
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Engage clients in social activities and recreational outings
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Requirements:
- Previous experience in personal care or related field preferred
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client locations
- Ability to provide direct support to individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities
- Understanding of home care systems and procedures
- Ability to lift and move clients with proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly or disabled individuals
