Caregiver/ House Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking caregiver with excellent communication skills and experience in caring for individuals with dementia and vision challenges. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our client who requires assistance with daily activities and engagement in physical exercise.

Pay Rate:$28 with the potential for an increase after demonstrating sustained success in this role.

Desired hours and days of the week:

Monday 10:30AM to 1:30PM

Tuesdays 07:00AM to 10:00AM and 3:00PM to 6:00PM

Wednesday 07:30AM to 10:30AM

Thursday 5:30PM to 8:30PM

Friday 07:00AM to 10:00AM and 3:00PM to 6:00PM

Responsibilities:

· Comprehensive Care: Provide attentive care and support to the client, ensuring his physical and emotional well-being. This will include ADLs like bathing, toileting, getting dressed and brushing teeth. Other tasks might include meal prep, errands, and other tasks as assigned.

· Housekeeping including laundry, meal prep, dishes, able to call and schedule home management services.

· Effective Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with the client, his family, and other healthcare professionals involved in his care.

· Help Client Maintain Active Lifestyle: Regularly go on walks and engage with physical activities.

· Task Management: Exhibit the ability to see tasks through to completion, taking initiative to solve problems and showing a high level of energy and commitment towards achieving goals.

· Comfort with Dogs: Comfortably interact with Zouro, a friendly black lab, as part of the caregiving responsibilities.

· Fast Learner and Ownership: Quickly adapt to the unique needs of the role and take ownership of caregiving responsibilities.

· Consistent Availability: Commit to 30 hours per week consistently for the next year, demonstrating reliability and dedication to the role. The position would be for 3 regular shifts a week and occasional evenings or weekends.

· Transportation: Possess a reliable vehicle, a good driving record, and the ability to drive the client for various activities as needed.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in dementia care.

· Schedule flexibility to meet client needs

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Energetic and positive attitude.

· Ability to manage challenging behaviors with empathy and redirection.

· Comfortable with dogs.

· Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

· Commitment to consistent hours for at least one year.

· Able to walk 4 miles or more.
