A Brief Overview
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) provides the technical expertise during Electrophysiology (EP) and assists with other cardiovascular, neurovascular, and interventional radiology procedures.

What you will do

- Proficient to work in all services, expert in two (2) or more:
- EP - Adult
- EP - Pediatric
- EP - Device Implant
- Interventional Radiology
- Vascular
- Neurovascular
- Cardiovascular Adult and Pediatric
- Coach other less experienced Techs to provide scrub assistance during procedures.
- Enters data such as patient demographics in imaging equipment.
- Correctly archives images.
- Thorough understanding of electrophysiology, techniques, protocols and equipment functions.
- Operates and trouble-shoots ancillary equipment. Solid understanding of indications, needed supplies, measurement, archival.
- Super-user of all EP equipment, super-user most of the ancillary equipment, act as resource to other and assist in-services as needed.
- Coach other less expeeinced techs to conduct routine cleaning of procedural area and equipment.
- Verifies & completes all documentation to include EPIC and Qsight Inventory.
- Acts as the leader of the field in special cross-functional projects.
- Participates as the subject expert in hospital-wide committees as requested.
- Acts as a lead and assists in scheduler with work priorities, room scheduling and reassigns task when neded.

Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Five (5) years of cardiovascular progressively responsible and directly related work experience Required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of principles EP in relation to protocols, techniques, ekg recognition and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of principles of radiation in relation to imaging techniques.
- Thorough understanding of supplies used for procedures in all services.
- Understand the safety requirements of the complex procedures. Responsible for conducting safety training with less expereinced techs.
- Thorough understanding of the advanced anatomy and physiology in relation to the preformed.
- Thorough understanding of procedure indications, disease processes involved and treatment options.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Ability to explain highly complex procedures to the audience.
- Ability and knowledge to assess the specific age needs of the patients.
- Ability to build a trusting and collaborative relationship with colleagues and patients effectively and in a timely manner.
- Coach less experienced CVT's to build trusting relationships with patients and families.
- Exemplify the principles of C-I-CARE to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Basic Life Support required .
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required .
- RCIS - Registered Cardio Invasive Specialist . or
- RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist . or
- IBHRE - Int'l Board of Heart Rhythm Ex .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $52.00 - $70.00 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
