Key Responsibilities:- Perform and oversee all testing and therapeutics within the Cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures (e.g., LAAC, TAVR).
- Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Utilize appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
- Assist patients throughout procedures, managing tasks such as transport, site preparation, sterile procedures, patient monitoring, hemostasis post-catheter/sheath removal, and facilitating the return to the patient's room. Handle emergent cases.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to function well under stressful situations.
- Collaborate with team members and provide orientation as needed.
- Current nursing license in good standing.
- Associate’s Degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two to three years of Cath Lab experience. Emergency Room/ICU experience is advantageous.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
- Shift times: 7a – 7:30p (12 hr shifts).
- Must have experience – RN and AK lic required.
- 3 years of experience in Cath Lab or 5 years in a high acuity setting (e.g., ICU).
- Experience in circulating, monitoring, and administering sedation medication, including the mixing of sedation drips.
- No mapping experience needed (performed by a third-party company).
- Unit Beds/Rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day.
