To perform radiologic and other imaging procedures to produce images of the body for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries and interventional procedures, while ensuring optimum patient care and safety.Responsibilities: Performs fluoroscopic, interventional, and/or other specialized radiographic procedures to produce images of internal body organs and bones. Explains procedures to patient, obtains and records medical history relevant to the condition being viewed, selects appropriate equipment settings, and positions the patient in a manner to facilitate optimum imaging results. Views images to determine quality and forwards for review and interpretation; maintains applicable patient documentation.
Maintains adequate supplies and a clean work area; reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Assumes responsibility for patient safety; provides physical and psychological comfort to patient. Ensures compliance with workplace safety, environmental, exposure control, and/or infection control practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
