The MGB Salem Hospital Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs have a dedicated team of specially trained cardiac nurses, exercise physiologists, and a clinical dietitian, with each program led by a medical director. The team shares a deep commitment to the long-term health of the patients by helping build their confidence to return to a healthy productive life.

The Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab RN participates in all aspects of both programs which includes nursing assessment, telemetry monitoring, education, exercise, and behavioral/lifestyle management to help patients actively participate in the healing and recovery process, improving their overall health and quality of life.
The RN is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The RN directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
The RN is responsible for the quality of nursing care rendered to patients. The RN assesses, plans, implements, directs, supervises, and evaluates direct and indirect nursing care for patients in the cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation setting.
This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with a BSN required
- Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- 2 years Med/Surg experience and 1-2 years critical care experience required
- Clinical expertise to evaluate cardiac dysrhythmias required
- Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required.
- Proficiency in computer skills preferred.
