Description:
What the Clinic Echo Technologist will do:
- Performs echocardiographic procedures as ordered by a physician to include TTE, Stress Echo.
- Gathers appropriate clinical history, cardiac related findings and pertinent laboratory data from patients, medical records and previous scans in order to adapt the imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiographic information.
- Assists in the transfer of the patient to and from a wheelchair to exam table if needed and positions patients for the proper view of the heart.
- Selects and obtains recordings of the appropriate ultrasound images of the heart and related structures for the physician to interpret per Clinic protocol.
- Responsible to critique scanning parameters to improve the image. Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.
- Correlates pathological findings with echo results.
- Submits diagnostic exam to the physician for their interpretation.
What the Clinic Echo Technologist will need:
- RDCS registered or registry eligible.
- BLS certification within first three months of employment.
- Minimum of one-year experience directly related to Echocardiography.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
- Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of Mercy Health Partners.
