Job description

The Card Services Operations Analyst is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and procedures, assisting in the creation of test plans and test scripts, and performing testing for small projects for Card Services, under the guidance of the Payment Solutions Manager.  The Card Services Operations Analyst supports the enterprise serving as a payments expert for all card processing network rules and requirements. The Card Services Analyst has a well-rounded knowledge of key business functions with emphasis in emerging card payments.

  • Project Support (65%)
    1. Gather, analyze and document business unit requirements and procedures.
    2. Translate business requirements into functional, technical, security, and training requirements for internal teams and third-party vendors.
    3. Participate in documenting processes, as well as, document the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ workflow process, perform time studies and offer recommendations for process changes.
    4. Assist in requirements gathering and gap analysis on purchased third party tools and software packages.
    5. Assist in creating and documenting the data mapping for data conversions.
    6. Assist in the creation and maintenance of end-user guides, support material, and documentation of processes and procedures in support of assigned projects.
    7. Attends and sometimes leads the project review meetings with the Lines of Business impacted by a particular project.
  • Software Quality Assurance (15%)
    1. Assist with Integration, System, Regression, and User Acceptance testing, as applicable, for assigned projects.
    2. Assist in developing detailed test plans and test scripts for projects associated to the department.
  • Card Services Support (15%)
    1. Serves as the subject matter expert for the card processing team.
    2. Develop professional communications regarding products and features for members and partners to communicate changes.
    3. Analyze, investigate, and use multiple software applications to aid Management with gathering and reporting data.
    4. Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all organizational products and services, policies, processes, and procedures.
    5. Seek opportunities to re-engineer applications, processes and procedures for continuous improvement and efficiency.
    6. Analyze and resolve defects reported in the Production environment for defects of a low to moderate complexity.
    7. Administer user right controls for software applications the Card Services team is responsible for.
    8. Assist in end-user training.
    9. Participate in annual Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity testing activities (if needed).
  • Risk Mitigation (5%)
    1. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.  

Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent work-related experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a thorough knowledge of financial principles, front and back-office processing and financial institution regulations with an emphasis in the area of emerging card payments preferred.
  • 1+ years Business Analyst experience on projects of small to medium in size and complexity, with demonstrated experience in workflow/process analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, and creation and execution of testing plans.
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, or other workflow process diagramming tools, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical end-user
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organization and follow through skills.
  • Strong attention to detail – with exceptional quality control.
