ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Select the proper ring gear to correspond with the number of wings on the tool to be faced.
Mount the tool on the grinding arbor.
Adjust the hook of the tool by placing one wing against the back of the wheel. When finished, back the tool away from the wheel.
Start the machine.
Slowly approach the wheel with the tool using the infeed screw, bring the tool in enough to spark the tip.
Index the tool to the next wing, spark that tip, if the tip does not hit the wheel squarely refer back to steps 3,4,5.
Repeat the above process until the head is finished.
Visually inspect the entire head for dullness, tapered tips, bowed tips, thick and thin tips, etc.
Place the tool where appropriate for the next step
*Train others in Sharpening and grinding, ensure the safety of trainee, manage process flow of tools
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Computer knowledge helpful
Good organizational and communication skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Education
3 year experience preferred
If no experience, will need to successfully complete on-the-job training program.
TRAINING
Previous experience or successfully completed on-the-job training
All OSHA mandated safety training
Cross-trained in another job
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
