We are seeking an experienced and passionate Captain/Sommelier to join our team for an exciting pop-up and soon to be St.Helena's newest fine dining restaurant Capo 29, with an award winning wine list. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in fine dining and possess a diverse skill set to contribute to the success of our establishment. Open 5 nights only.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service in a fine dining setting
- Proficient in wine service and knowledgeable about various types of wines
- Ability to handle high volume service with grace and efficiency
- Participate in all service requirements
- Familiarity with POS systems for seamless order processing
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication skills
- Thorough understanding of food safety protocols
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Adherence to service procedures with attention to detail
- Effective conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in all aspects of fine dining service
- Always "Can Do" attitude
- Exceptional people skills and professionalism
- In-depth knowledge of wines, including food and beverage pairing
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Knowledgeable about spirits, beers, and various beverages
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Additional skills in hosting, back-waiting and running
- Must live within 45 minutes of travel time
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fine dining
- Proven track record of success in similar roles
- Passion for delivering outstanding service
- Certification or degree in hospitality is a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Must be legally eligible to work in US
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine is a plus
- Full service for captains without host/busboy/runner/sommelier support
