Salary Range: $4369 - $8429/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; exempt classification.
Essential Functions: This position provides nursing care to students/patients by performing a variety of skilled nursing procedures and fulfills the responsibilities of a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) in the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services department. The incumbent’s duties include; patient screening and triage; evaluating the urgency and severity of chief complaint, completing a risk assessment, obtaining brief psychological and/or medical history; providing health education and family planning counseling to patients; preparing patients for examination by providers; managing provider schedules and charting patient information in medical records system; outreach, case management, quality improvement and assurance reviews; and other nursing duties per SHC protocol.
Required Qualifications & Experience: One year of progressively responsible professional work experience as a Registered Nurse with ability to work independently in specialized nursing activities. Knowledge of: triage and assessment; patient counseling; and development and implementation of nursing procedures and protocols. Possess and maintain a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California and certification in CPR/AED. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a college or education setting. Experience working in a mental health care clinic Experience with patient mental health triage, assessment, and evaluation for the purposes of assigning treatment priority. Experience documenting in electronic medical records systems. Excellent customer service.
