Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides subject matter expertise on various claims/capitation platforms (i.e., NDB, UNET, CSP Facets, COSMOS, NICE)
  • Business systems subject matter expert (SME) for projects related to integrations, migrations & new products, application development
  • Positions in this function are responsible for various activities related to the database structures which may include any or all of the following: reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses, initiating database improvement
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and are in scope
  • Develops and maintains standards for database integrity and quality assurance, coordinates corrective activities to clean database and retain users, and manages communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements
  • Coordination and completion of project task assigned to meet deliverable dates
  • Makes presentations to management on project updates
  • Establishing, communicating & evaluating business requirements & timelines associated with special projects, integrations, migrations, new product development that impact functional teams
  • Contract analytics & configuration expertise in support of functional teams
  • Improve process flows & increase automation through system/tool enhancements related to provider installation inclusive of time studies
  • Collaborating with technical resources to implement system solutions inclusive of testing enhancements when required
  • Review and approval of system/tool design documents & business requirement documents
  • Assisting with the development of strategic business solutions through research, audits and analysis of data and/or business processes
  • Ad hoc requests for research & analysis to troubleshoot system issues/discrepancies
  • Self-Directed
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
  • Performs complex conceptual analysis
  • Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members
  • Assist with training new hires

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of accounting/financial data analysis and/or project support experience within the healthcare industry
  • 4 years of working with Provider Contracting and Data structures
  • Intermediate experience in MS Office Suite, including MS tools to manipulate data (EXCEL/ACCESS)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical individuals from diverse backgrounds


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of UNET, FACETS, NDB, CIRRUS, COSMOS, ECAP or NICE
  • Intermediate SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of IT System Lifecycle and Agile process
  • Understanding of the capitation lifecycle process
  • Healthcare insurance background and experience with provider contracts or provider data
  • Intermediate background in risk sharing model

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
