Job description

The Sales Associate is the primary contact between Native Sun guests and the company. They are responsible for educating guests on Native Sun’s product offerings and providing an excellent guest service experience. They must communicate effectively and have a solid understanding of how to meet the guest’s needs.

Sales Associates will be responsible for using Native Sun’s point of sale system . They must practice and be compliant with state regulations, and with Native Sun’s standard operating procedures and protocols. They have the ability to promote and maintain a positive work environment that is grounded in best-in-class guest service and company growth.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-end guest service experience with a focus on guest engagement and education.
  • Validate the guests concerns, needs and goals by approaching each interaction with a positive attitude, welcoming tone of voice, empathy and effective communication skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of various types of strains and products offered by Native Sun.
  • Recommend additional and complementary products and/or strains based on the information provided by the guest or item already selected for purchase.
  • Maintain a current understanding of research and trends in the cannabis industry to provide guests with up-to-date information and knowledge base.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, secure, healthy, and productive environment.
  • Assists with the presentation of a well-stocked store front ensuring a positive sales experience.
  • Participates in overall store cleanliness including restrooms, office, and sales floor.
  • Must have a can-do attitude at all times with a strong work ethic focused on Native Sun’s Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • Participates in opening and closing, and mid day tasks.
  • Maintain a general understanding of the Massachusetts Adult Use Cannabis regulations, mainly regarding adult use dispensary operations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the legal cannabis industry and CCC guidelines.
  • Execute and enforce compliance with CCC regulations and Native Sun’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling and managing guest information.
  • Accurately and efficiently execute sales transactions using cash, debit cards or CanPay.
  • Participates in ongoing education and professional development as required.
  • Check in guests and visitors following identification check procedures.
  • Answer phones appropriately.
  • Activating Native Sun signature scent.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for working in admissions, fulfillment and inventory when assigned.
  • Cross training is a requirement.

Job Requirements and Preferences

  • 2+ years experience in a fast‐paced client‐service intensive industry – retail background preferred
  • Previous cannabis experience preferred.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash management with a focus on register accountability.
  • Availability to work nights, holidays and weekends is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
