Job Description:
We are seeking an individual to fill a Foreman position for our large sungrown cannabis farm in Lake County, California. You will be an integral part of the farming operation from seed and clone through harvest and cure. Ideal candidates will have agricultural experience as well as supervisor experience. We are looking for a quality-focused and reliable employee with proven abilities to motivate and lead the crew while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Candidates who fill this position will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and be able to manage crews effectively and efficiently.
Job Duties:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a crew of 5-15 laborers performing various job tasks: planting, irrigating, topping, Metrc tagging, pruning, trellising, staking, spraying, and harvesting.
- Lead teams in the execution of work orders.
- Track hourly and daily KPIs to achieve job task target goals.
- Prepare and verify time sheets.
- Assist in the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Responsible for potable drinking water for all crew members.
- Operating tractors, water trucks, ATVs, UTVs, forklifts, farm trucks, skid steers, and PTO attachments.
- Responsible for ensuring farm cleanliness and organization of all farm buildings and equipment.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Responsible for EOD clean up and equipment/tool organization.
- Supervise night spray crew, which includes mixing and handling pesticides, nightly clean up, logging pesticide use reports (PURs), maintaining spray equipment, and communicating needs and any issues with the Farm Manager.
- Perform any and all tasks assigned to you by management.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of agricultural experience as a foreman, supervisor, or some other management position is required.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Computer savvy skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and independently.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Overtime may be required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education:
- High school diploma
Working Conditions:
- Work outdoors in various types of weather.
- Daily exposure to machinery noise and extreme heat/cold.
- Exposure to fine particulate cannabis plant material as airborne particles.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and stoop for extended periods throughout the growing, harvesting, and processing season.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Regularly ascends/descends <20% slope in the working area.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to frequently move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds across the cultivation property.
Job Type:
- Full-time.
- 8-hour shift.
- 10-hour shift. (Harvest)
- Mandatory 6-day work weeks during harvest.
- Harvest black-out dates September 15th-November 15th.
- Schedule: Year-Round Position. (10 months on - 2 months off)
